It is part of processing industry that involves processing, packaging, distribution and transportation of various snack products such as extruded products, fruit and vegetable based snacks, salted, spiced and sweetened coated nuts, grain-based snacks, flour based– batter and dough based snack products, savoury, farsans and instant premixes of traditional Indian snack foods,etc. It also involves science of biochemistry, food microbiology and nutrition.
