Reinforced concrete is one of the most widely used structural materials in civil engineering, and its proper design is essential for ensuring the safety, serviceability, durability, and economy of structures. This course provides students with fundamental knowledge and practical skills for the analysis and design of reinforced concrete structural members such as slabs, beams, columns, footings, and staircases. It enables students to apply principles of structural mechanics, material behaviour, and limit state design in accordance with relevant Indian Standards. The course also emphasizes reinforcement detailing and constructability, preparing students to undertake safe and efficient design of RCC structures in professional practice.
